Tattersall Barreled rum

Tattersall Barreled

United States | Gold

Tattersall Barreled rum, a version of the base used in their Blackstrap Rum that’s aged at 130 proof in used bourbon barrels for just under a year. This is a limited, single barrel release. Before bottling, the rum is lightly filtered and diluted to varying proofs depending on the barrel (from 100 to 114). No added sweeteners, flavors, or color.

Tasted 1/23/20 at Laka Lono as part of a Kill Devil Rum Club Tattersall tasting.
This aromatic rum has a truly perfumed presence, with notes of both jasmine and honeysuckle.
The barrel aging clearly makes a fragrant difference, and I recommend tasting the barreled and non-barreled side by side if at all possible for comparison.
This rum gets a YES.

Tasted at Laka Lono on 1/23/20. Pours a gold color. Has a buttery, diacetyl aroma. Yummy butterscotch, caramels, brown sugar with just a hint of oakiness. Very smooth and an easy drinker in a neat pour. Nice.
