Similar to Mount Gay rum, whisky like. Its more spicy with ice than without.
interesting, not the best, way to expensive...
some good notes, but miss a bit of character.
average aged rhum, nice to try once...
Belle robe, mais rien de bien notable pour ce rhum. Aussi vite oublié qu'il est bu...
Well a very good friend of mine took this bottle with him,as this rum is nowhere to find in Europe,it was a great surprise. i never tasted a rum from the Seychelles,i didn't even know that they produce any.
It was a very fruity, easy to drink rum,in the nose flowers and spices,a little harsh on the palete but it ceased immediately . Not too sweet tho. like always,i enjoyed it neat and not on the rocks (what a blasphemy)
Trois Frères Distillery
La Plaine St. André, Mahé
Takamaka
St. André
Aged 8 Years
40%
Country of origin: Seychelles
Color: Old Gold
Nose:
Faint and sweet with aromas of raisins and caramel. Furthermore there are notes of sandalwood and cider vinegar.
Palate:
Mild, light and almost tasteless. With quite some efforts I manage to taste toffee, oak and vanilla. Furthermore this rum is a little spicy (white pepper, jalapeños).
Finish:
Medium long, dry and slightly spicy.
Summary:
I love to remember my vacation on the Seychelles ... but this rum leaves a lot to be desired. At least it appears that there was not much sugar added.
Spicy, strong and fruity at the same time. Almost taste the same as the normal
Spiced
Rum.
Nice smell with sweetness and oriental spices. The taste is weak and boring. Also quite strong alcoholic taste for 40 Vol.%.
Smooth, nice flavours, I drink it neat on special occasions with good friends.

Décevant... 3 out of 10
