This one is not the same rum that was previously called Sweet Crude from Rank Wildcat. It has been almost three years since I tried that one, but this one is bottled under a new name and is a definite improvement.
It is a French Style white rum crafted from sugar cane syrup with no black strap molasses and bottled at 40% ABV. Without question, this one is the smoothest unaged rhum agricole that I have ever tried.
