Not a lot going on here. Some sharp barrel. White clear water pour. Kind an almost cachaca like vibe in the astringent finish. Shot at Tiki TNT.
If you want a traditional white rum, head up to NoMa and go to Cotton & Reed. If you want something that's a bit out there, try Thrasher's. It's got a funky note upfront that's weirdly in between Jamaican hogo and the sugar/molasses flavors of a Demerara. That funk carries over into the drink, so if you're note expecting it, it might throw things off. Pretty decent.
This is quite a dry rum, clear and unaged. Not much flavor, just a hint at the start and then a dry nondescript finish. It is a clean palette to mix with, though.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Tasted at the Distillery tour on 5/23/23. Pours clear. The aroma is mild with some subtle notes of banana and wildflower nectar. The flavor has a pepper burn on the tip of the tongue. This is an intentionally clean and crisp white rum that is utilized as the base for all of the other rums. I tried a version of this rum bottled in 2019 and the flavors then were much more pronounce and almost cachaca-like.
