not the best, not the worst. in between. if you want to have a nice rhum for a minimum of bucks, than try. taste it neat on its own. the whole taste goes into the direction of the five star. but in the end it lacks complexity and smoothness.

Rougher than the 5 star, but still drinkable, if mixed. Great budget rum.

Even as a mixer, was not as smooth as I would have hoped. Have it as a 4.5 on my chart.

No fan of the "agricole", but the scharp taste makes it suitable for mixing

There are no words. Similar taste with Stroh, only less alcohol.

Suitable for the mixing maybe but no more. Too alcholic

N- Soft and quiet, with light ashy smoke breeze thru from a distance, bonfire, phenol charred notes and plenty of sea salts (doesn't it sounds familiar?) Cognac (a vsop) mixed with water alike, which is quite nice. Despite the quiet nature, appeared rounded, serious with fine oak fragrant, probably from a refill brandy cask. (19/25)

P- Layer by spiced salts, some dried berries with rather firm body and well structure, despite light on strength, good oak that impart just the right touch of woodiness that sooth the palate. (19/25)

F- Short-medium, smooth. Drift of dried leaf with charred wood lingers, returns of phenol that make it rather complex. Good light sipping rhum. (20/25)

Balanced:- Brandy alike, which is not a bad thing. (19/25)

Weighted Rate:- 77pt

This was my favorite Rum! Dry agricole rum made from sugarcane juice not molasses in Haiti. Bright flavor, not too fancy just good rum. True pirate Rum with it's simple old school bottle and label. Smooth with a little bite, I like to drink it straight out of the bottle, arrrrrrr. Clean liquor never a headache from this stuff.
