Un haitien... Forte prรฉsence de vanille. Bcp de corps mais moelleux malgrรฉ tout. Rond comme il se doit.

Iโ€™m not sure how anyone could rate thus rum high. It just does not work for me nor does the 5 star 8 year. A hot alcohol mess.

This was the first rum that reminded me a bit of a Scotch. It is strong, but also sweet and oaky.

There are no words. Similar taste with Stroh, only less alcohol.

For just a few dollars more you can get the much better 5-star 8-year-old version. This 3-star rum is 4 years old, and has a very thin, grassy taste. I used to put it in Mai-Tais along with a dark Jamaican, but there are so many better-tasting, aged agricoles out there. Not a terrible rum, just really unnecessary.

It's quite doable. A bit sweet, rough around the edges with some alcohol burn and tingle. Nice overall taste with hints of being an "agricole" rum (though not technically I suppose...). Light fruit and peppery. Short finish that does not linger in any bad way. Spend more for the 8 year / 5-Star though. Perfectly good as a mixer.

This was almost rhum agricole adjacent in terms of some grassy, vegetal notes, but it had too much alcohol flavor to be of much use. If you really want Barbancourt, splurge for a slightly longer aged bottle

Came recommended - not thrilled. Very strong alcohol taste. Not super smooth.

Not as good as it's older brother, which I didn't find to be particularly great either.
