Traveling the West Indies on vacation each island held treasures or risky rums. St Vincent had a decent XO rum at 40%. Clean scent unadulterated slightly sweet and easy to drink. Nothing extra special going on here medium dark brown and worthy of a spot on my shelf.

If you like to go for a classic taste of molasses and something which just resembles rum as it was meant to be made, then this is a truly excellent choice. I don't think it is widely available outside of SVG though. Worth hunting down for some good evening sips!

A lot of skill and effort went into this and it taste great. Recommended as a supper, maybe a really fancy cocktail.

Drank a fair bit of this in 2019 in Barbados. Really enjoyed it. Not too much of a burn and just the right amount of sweetness. Have a bottle that a brought back with me and it’s always a go to when the sun is shining.

Captain Bligh XO tastes a bit like a marriage between Bajan rum and Chairman's Reserve, both rums that I like. The nose gives a clear presence of alcohol, some vanilla, spiced caramel and oak. On the palate the rum is very dry despite its sweet fruity flavour and there is a strong peppery oak present from start to finish. The alcohol is also very present (despite just 40% ABV), making it a bit fiery but never harsh or burning. It is good stuff no doubt but I would expect more complexity at this pricepoint; lots of tastes in here but no layers and the taste hardly changes from the first sip to the last bit of taste in the medium long finish. At €35 I do demand more from a rum but it is no punishment drinking this, it is really nice.

Bought at St Vincent airport duty free for $19, well worth that price. Been drinking it on a cube of ice. Good balance, not super complex, but easy to drink.

Maybe, everyone like this. It is midium light body, mild and creamy taste. There is a little rubber aroma.

This one has been on my wishlist for a long time after a sample test long ago and now I finally got me some bottles.
It doesn’t disappoint this time either, I really like it.
It has very nice flavour and it’s dry, fruity and oaky in mouth. The afterburn is also nice and quite long.
There are definitely similarities with Bajan rums as I saw somebody else had written.
A very nice rum to a very competitive price!

I have heard such a lot about this and was expecting more. Frankly, at this price point, I'd expect more. It certainly not sweet, and that's fine, but it's quite bitter...and to me, at least, that not fine. I've heard all the reports about it's wonderful smell for the price. I didn't find that. I'd go as far as to say that I thought this was a bit rough on both the nose and the tongue. I found it a bit short on the finish too. I think Havana Club Especial is way better and that is roughly 9 or 10 pounds cheaper. I'd much rather pay an extra £2 - £5 and have something considerably more complex and interesting.

It's not my style and taste is bitter and ordinary, there is nothing special.
