Thought success would be based more on marketing and the whole Hemingway nod.
Though a bit sweet and over extracted, I enjoyed the glass I had and wouldnโ€™t mind another.
Cheers to Papa!

My favorite rum that I can afford. I never would use it as a mixer.

I have to say I am a fan of all the Papa Pilar rums. Each is unique in its own way and I like them all. If youโ€™re looking for a nice easy sipping rum, give Papa a try.

Brown sugar and nougat nose. Juicy in the mouth. Smooth and delightful. A do again, and again, and again.

We had a great rum tasting party last night. Just when I thought it would be hard to find more rums to taste 5 interesting bottles showed up. I saw Papa Pilar immediately dismissed it as the maple syrup, boy was I surprised this is a very good blended rum. Much more depth than he original Solara, mild sweetness medium depth and slight different finish. Still tastes artificial after second tasting. Would not purchase again.

What a smooth rum for being aged in whiskey barrels. Full of flavor, very little whiskey; just enough to let you know where it came from . Great from the freezer., and with an easy cigar.

This was a fantastically surprising bottle for me. The taste is so unique and good. Iโ€™ve bought a second bottle already. If you see one on the shelf, worth the try.

Now this is a Pilar I can get behind. Smooth finish, excellent on the rocks.

This is one of my favorite rums. For the money, it may even be my top rated rum. Very smooth and easy to drink neat or with a cube.

Got this for my Birthday and I am so Impressed I first tried Papa Pilar in Key West and my wife fell in love with the blonde...
In my opinion it's unique with a complex taste profile with hints of Baking spice, Maple and chocolate... A definite sipper :-)

Solera smoothe with a sweet maple syrup smell and taste at first. After going down, and exhaling the complex notes come out on the palate: vanilla, fruit, oak, and a myriad of others I can not identify, but they surely please.

I found this at a local liquor store after my dad recalled the label coming from Key West. At $65/fifth, we split it and after the first sip, it was thoroughly and surprisingly excellent ๐Ÿ‘Œ, it might not last the weekend.

I save this as my current favorite and I hope to find another bottle soon!

Enjoy my fellow pirates out there!
