Facettenreicher, nicht zu komplizierter Einsteigerrum.

yellow gold colour, spicy nose and a great well rounded taste. with 40% alc. this rum is quite easy to drink and has a lovely lasting flavour when you sip it. loved this one on a hot summer night dreaming away to the Caribbean.

Light colour and dry - you can taste no additives were used. Interesting, balanced nose, good flavours, not offensive in any way and very drinkable at 40%. As others have said maybe a bit watery or toned down but I think it's a very nice entry-level rum and I think most people that don't look for sweetened rums will like it.

Für meine 8. Rumrunde.

A slightly lighter amber in the glass.
Fruity and light on the nose. Delicious fruit skewers of bananas, peaches and pineapple roasted over embers, the fructose slowly caramelizing. Vanilla, delicate cocoa notes and other exotic spices are accompanied by earthy wood tones.
Soft, delicate and honest on the palate. The fruit treats are now away from the fire and cooled, the caramel glaze shining silkily in the evening glow. Warm liquid chocolate flows over it and a gauzy layer emerges, spice and wood dust quickly sticking to it.
Subtle and long on the finish. Nothing can really decide to go first, together the fruits, caramel, chocolate, spices, woods and grandmother stride towards the sunset.
A great blend that gets better and better the longer it is open in the glass. For beginners, connoisseurs and all who like the pure rum. -8
For my 8th rum round.

8:The nose is balanced between a typical Barbadian woodiness of white oak, tobacco and vanilla, and a lighter, still vanilla-flavored body, slightly tinged with herbal notes. The cane sugar syrup is gently spicy, the fruit delicate, like an exotic fruit salad in syrup. Some dried fruit hovers over the rum without heaviness, as if on a knife-edge.
With a little time and air, the rum gains in roundness and develops its Barbados side on vanilla blond tobacco and coconut. The wood is young but tender and melted. The style is seductive and easy, round but not sweet, well balanced between English and Spanish tradition. The aromas are clean and luscious.
8:The palate is soft and pleasant, with a well-rounded, fruity and somewhat milky entry. The texture is very comfortable, the rum spreading out gently, without exaggeration. It quietly conquers the palate with sweet caramel, vanilla, tobacco and very tasty coconut. The exotic fruits are gently milky, easy but really pleasant.
7,5:The finish is very caramelized and mellow, still somewhere between Barbados and the Latino tradition. There's a hint of stone and resinous wood at the very end.

Good taste, nice smell, pleasant to drink. Nothing outstanding and a bit overpriced.

The Compagnie des Indes - West Indies is a blend of rums that come from Barbados, Guyana, Panama and the Dominican Republic and were stored together for 8 years in oak barrels. Without additives, it is bottled with 40% alcohol in the bottle typical for C.D.I..

The nose is dominated by sweet oak and vanilla notes. Everything is very balanced and harmonizes well. Barbados dominates here. Guyana resonates with a light chocolate note. On the palate, the rum is balanced again. Sweet caramel and ripe fruit notes are dominant. Honey comes along. The finish is light and becomes a little more spicy. A little liquorice resonates.

The rum is really good and I recommend it especially for beginners who want to try rum without additives. For me, the 40% are a little too weak and the whole thing a bit watery. But still a fine drop. You can't do much wrong here.

It's a natural rum for beginners. For conaisseurs it should be more intensive.
It's a Guyana, Panama, Domrep and Barbados blend. I'd prefer a 12 year version and more aromas from Barbados and Guyana.

The flavors are very bright and light. The combination of the flavors is not very interesting.
The taste is watery with vanilla, some tannins, citrus, pear and some apricot. The dilution is too high.
I would mix more Guyana PM inside and more Barbados rum to add orange flavors.
Because of the balance I would give 70 points.

Smell: vanilla, white oak, herbs, apricot, some citrus, wood
Taste: watery taste, slightly sweetness (not caramel), vanilla, some fruits (citrus, pear), grasy notes, tannins from the wood, some apricot
Finish: long spicy finish, warm burn, vanilla, pear, grasy notes

Sweetness: 1.5/5
Spice: 3.5/5
Fruit: 2/5
Mildness: 3.5/5
Value (35€): 2/5
