Quorhum Cask Strength 30-Year

I thought this rum had the potential to be my all time favorite, since (as of this review) the Ron Esclavo XO is my #26 rum, while their XO cask is #3! Meanwhile, the Ron Quorhum 30 is my #13 rum so I thought this could be even higher than #3. But ultimately, I wasn't sure if I even liked this better than the regular 30 year Quorhum.

Great rums usually taste better at cask strength. But to me, this has about the same flavor as the Quorhum 30, with a little more burn. I even tried other high abv rums to be sure my taste buds weren't off, and it seems they weren't.

Like the Ron Quorhum 30, this smells and tastes of molasses, caramel, vanilla, spice, oak, honey, and just a hint of bourbon.

A fantastic rum; I easily rate this a 10.

Rum tasting during the global lockdown started with Ron Quorhum 30y Cask Strength. Very flimsy cardboard box surrounds a beautiful bottle design. All black labels. Hand written numbered bottle. Deep mahogany color. Very sweet molasses mixed with mild chocolate and oh so smooth ending. Simply a spectacular rum which goes straight to my Top 20 list after well over 2,500 rums later.

Taste notes of oak, honey and coffee among other things.
Very rounded even though it's at around 50% ABV

OMG! This one is incredible it's a really complex rhum. 100 proof and spicy but still very round...
It's a bomb both in taste and scent, in fact so much that it's hard to pinpoint all of it. But I'll give it a go.

Scent: Dark cane molasses, tobacco, oak, raisin, leather, vanilla and some fruitiness...

Taste: Cane syrup, tobacco, vanilla, oak and fruitiness....

Best rhum I tasted so far.

This rum has, what I was little bit missing by standard 30y version (which is good, but maybe too much universal, to taste as much people as possible).
The Cask Strenght has BALLS ! The 50% vol is exactly perfect to level up the complexity, intensity and taste, without the burning. From the new line of differently finished 30y versions this is the only one who deserve the higher price - due to higher level of alcohol and perfect taste. I will watch the discount actions and this bottle will be definitely always placed in my bar.

Rhum-bourbon aroma, well balanced body, oak strength in the end.

Aroma: Kůže, pražené ořechy, stopa kouřové vanilky, mokré dřevo.
Chuť: Bonbónová sladkost, trocha medu, jemně pikantní.
Dozvuk: Kávové tóny, vlašáky, rozinky, lehce hořkne.

Určitě nejlepší z trojice Quorhum, co jsem ochutnal. 50% dodalo rumu potřebný říz. Nadprůměr.

My journey has mainly been on the more expensive rums. I have found my taste for Oliver rums. This is the best of many I have tried. For a cask strength no burn on the nose with excellent scent. Great smooth burn mixed with smooth flavors of dark cane molasses, honey, oak and chocolate with a super smooth finish. Had a friend bring back from DR. BOTTLE 2 of 1000 2021. Worth every penny. Hell worth a trip.
