Velier 1996 Caroni The Tasting Gang 23-Year

Aroma is nice, but not pronounced. First taste is sweet and fruity followed by alcohol kick and burn ending in long pleasant aftertaste. 9.5 points

Ein interessante Mischung,meinen Geschmack trifft Sie voll,auch wenn Viele der Meinung sind die Abfüllung wäre nicht zu toll.
Die hängt auch damit zusammen dass Sie zeitgleich mit dem The Last Caroni gebracht wurde und der Last Caroni dürfte auf Augenhöhe mit der Kirsch Caroni Abfüllung so ziemlich das Beste sein was an Caroni,egal von welchem Abfüller je abgefüllt wurde.
Also bitte nicht schlecht reden für mich eine tolle Mischung aus 22 Fässern mit allen Caroni typischen Geschmacksexplosionen,aber von Allem nicht zu viel.
Wer es gerne etwas süsser mag ist hier auch gut bedient,keine Angst ein Riise ist es trotzdem nicht--))

I got the opportunity to attend a rum tasting with Daniele Biondi from Velier were we tasted 9 different rums. This was the eighth rum of the night, that we tasted side-by-side with the 39th release of the same series "The Last". I have a big place in my heart for Caroni, so to be able to taste this one was fantastic. It shares similar characteristics with it´s brother, but is a bit more well-rounded.

Nose: Diesel, figs, mango, tarmac, cane sugar and some camphor
Taste: Straw, peach pit, figs, dark chocolate and tobacco
Overall: This is just a fantastic rum. It has the classic Caroni feel to it and as soon as it enters the glass, you just know, that you are drinking something special. It is maybe a bit to smooth for my liking, but I have nothing bad to say about this rum. Fantastic!

Nádherný rum Caroni, skutočná lahôdka. Plný tropického ovocia, dlhý záver. Tých 63,5% vôbec necítiť. Skutočne je to rum len krôčik od dokonalosti.

This is the second best Caroni I have tried. It is actually one of the smoother Caroni and still with all the right Caroni notes. Fantastic heavy taste of sweet medicine (in a good way) Diesel and dates. A blend of 22 different casks and 23 y. Fantastic!

Caroni gets better and better. Can’t wait for more of this stuff

Za mě jedna z ikon této značky. Poslední ze dvou, které nemám asi v plánu delší dobu otevřít.
