This rum is the one. Any Doorly's is good, but this is a rum to savour. Preferred neat or in an old fashioned
Perfect rum. Good scent, perfect color, a bit sharp on the initial taste...but nice finish. Ecxellent product...just not fully my taste...therefore the 8 and not the 9 it probably deserves.
Wow what a rum really nice. My advice open it and let it breath for 10 mins.the flavours are all there burnt brown sugar vanilla a touch of cocoa even honey and a grassiness to it goes down with a touch of warmth and the taste stays in your mouth for a good minute or two great stuff
I'm no rum expert but this is something really special, not to everyone's taste but certainly amazing. I can smell my boat, the sea and the infinite horizon. 10/10
This is an easy '10' rum, I gave it a 9 because you're not going to find the 14-yr old in just any liquor store you walk into. Not easy finding the 12-yr old either. Both are excellent, love the bottle too!
The rum was aged mainly in barrels that had been previously stored bourbon. A smaller proportion was matured in casks that had been previously stored fortified Madeira wine. Aged for 14 years, with an alcohol content of 48%.
Bottle: Classic Foursquare, but without the the seal with the mill. The label depicts the very rare Ara Kaninda parrot.
Colour: Dark honey
Nose: One of the most pleasant I've ever tested. Even with the higher alcohol content, absolutely no alcohol odour. I could detect vanilla, cherry griotte, tropical fruit, sweet red wine and a wooden wine barrel in the aroma.
Mouth: It's rather drier and there's quite a lot of wood and alcohol sharpness. After all, 48% of it is already noticeable. Caramel, cocoa, pepper, burnt wood and unsweet cherries were recognized on the palate.
Finish: Medium to long.
Conclusion: This was my second rum from this distillery (after The Real McCoy 12), and even though they are more of a drier rums, they really appealed to me. They are fragrant, smooth with a lingering flavor.
Overall rating: 9 out of 10
Superb - really enjoyed this, sadly finished too quickly and need to order some more. This was flavourful, aromatic, with a good long finish. Seriously nice.
Wow, nice foursquare Ron I like it so much. Even when it is stronger about alcohol, but it is not problem. Dry but smooth. I like it.
Woody oak notes dominate initially giving to some fruit.
"Lots of ginger and spicy oak on the initial entry. There is a slightly bDoorly's Fine Old Barbados Rum Aged 14 Years rum review by the fat rum pirateitter note in the oak notes. A slight astringency. Finish wise we are left with a spicy and slightly heated end to the rum."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Aside from the great smell this rum has, the moment the first drop touches your tongue is when the real journey starts. A lot of pleasant flavours pass your tastebuds and allthough the relatively high alcohol percentage doesnβt go unnoticed, it is one smooth sipper. Comes as close to the Foursquares as you can go.
