I like it in a rom and Coke. One of my go to for that drink
krásně vyvážená vůně i chuť ve své kategorie klenot, ale Barbados není moje oblíbená destinace a to nezmění ani tento rum.
This is my perfect rum. Pours dark brown with great legs.
A magasan hagyott alkoholfokkal az ízek is intezívek maradtak, különleges kókuszos ízvilágú, meglepően jó rum. Ár/érték aránya kiváló.
This is how I imagine how good rum should smell and taste - Punch cake. If you would like start exploring Foursquare ECS releases, but dont know if its worth the money, try this first. It reflects very well what Richard Seale is doing there for more then a half of the cost. A must have for dry rum lovers. It beats more expensive rums.
Nose - mulled wine with spice, dark chocolate, honey and raisins.
Taste - dry as all Foursquare products but you can still experience sweet notes. Dried fruits, red wine, honey, dark chocolate and spice. Warms very well. Good fruity finish.
In my opinion there could be more prominent smoke / oak notes. That would be a taste perfection.
Very goog Taste for me. Just orderef it again.....
The Doorly's line of rums is supposed to be the little brother line compared to the Four Square line of distinction rums from Four Square. This 14 YO and it's brother, the 12 YO have nothing to apologize for. They are worthy of serious consideration, even against the Four Square line. Aged in white oak barrels, with a ABV of 48%, this is a premium sipping rum.
Couldn't get a bottle of Sovereignty or Isonomy, so decided to give this a whirl.
Immediately struck by how different to the 12 this is. Smell brings a rich complexity that I don't find in the younger brother. There's also something subtly marmalade like in there too.
Taste has all that, with discrete layers to it too. Its pretty sweet like the 12, but whereas the 12 is brown sugar all the way, this is nuanced and complex as well as rich, with a bit of spice, a pretty subtle burn and a long rich finish.
It doesn't have quite the highs of an ECS, and the lower proof is noticeable, but it's a really satisfying rum all the same. At £62 a bottle it's going to be a now and again purchase, but for all those occasions I can't get a new ECS release, I don't think I'm going to be disappointed.
Woody oak notes dominate initially giving to some fruit.
"Lots of ginger and spicy oak on the initial entry. There is a slightly bDoorly's Fine Old Barbados Rum Aged 14 Years rum review by the fat rum pirateitter note in the oak notes. A slight astringency. Finish wise we are left with a spicy and slightly heated end to the rum."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

The brand Doorly’s was founded in 1908 by Martin Doorly & Company, but is since 1992 owned and some years later produced by Foursquare and Mr. Richard Seale.
This 14yo Doorly’s is a blend of Pot and Column distilled rum. The rum has been aged in ex-bourbon casks plus that a small part of the blend was aged in ex-Madeira casks.
The aroma is woody, spicy, fruity and intense with hints of vanilla and caramel.
In mouth and at the palate it’s woody, spicy and fruity as well with tastes of vanilla, caramel, oak, coffee, chocolate, bourbon, pepper and ginger.
The rather long finish is woody and spicy with tastes of vanilla, oak, chocolate and tobacco.
Overall a really great, complex and well balanced rum.
