Stark Spirits California Gold rum, an aged version of the base used in their Silver Rum that spends one to two years (until it has “the right color and flavor for our taste,” according to the distillery) in new American white oak barrels. It’s proofed down to 92 proof from its 125 barrel strength before bottling.

This rum was just ok as a sipper. Will try again but it just might have to be a mixer

A local (to me, in LA) gold rum aged to tasty perfection. Nice sweetness but not too sweet. The vanilla and caramel flavors did it for me. I prefer it neat or on the rocks, but I imagine it would be fantastic in a cocktail too. This is my favorite gold rum I've had and as a whisky drinker, invited me to a world of excellent gold rims!

Raw oaky flavor straight. But the burn is awful strong. Mixed, much better. 5-5.5

Not a mixer, not a sweet rum. Well aged in new American oak. Almost bourbon like, finishing with rum notes.
