Santa Teresa 1796 rum is produced in Venezuela and aged using the solera system that blends rums aged between 4 and 35 years. Before bottling, the rum is aged for a further year in large French oak casks to marry the blends.
This rum was first created in 1996 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the distillery, the Santa Teresa Hacienda.

Un rhum suave typé espagnol qui ravira vos sens...malheureusement un peu cher rapporté a des rhum de grande qualité. ?.
Roundish, not to sweet rum with a fantastic honeyish finish
Great solera style rum! Complex aromas of pear, banana, toffee, vanilla, caramello. At mouth very smooth!
Has such a tasty smokey flavor. Two fingers, a handful of ice and a warm fire. Doesn't get better than that.
Nothing to be afraid when it comes to comparison with other rums at the same price range. I just found it a bit flat to the second hal (and this is a completely personal taste thing)
the first zip kicks in wonderfully but the aftertaste leaves me wondering...
Overall... yes i would drink it and enjoy it again.
This round and firm-bodied rum is delicate with a complex and mellow flavor. It is best enjoyed on its own. Color: Reddish amber. Nose: Fruity aroma with honey and dark chocolate notes. Taste: With a mellow yet complex flavor, this rum offers tobacco and leather notes, toasted and It is full-bodied while remaining delicate, elegant and velvety. The end evokes attributes borrowed from the oaks in which it aged.
C'est la plus belle bouteille de ma collection. Le contenu néanmoins n'est pas le meilleur. C'est toutout de même pas mal je le classe dans les moyens bon avec un bon 8.
I like this one good taste, not to heavy in the after taste. once some other bottles are finished, I will add one to my rum cabinet.
Been wanting to try this rum for some time now and it didn't disappoint me. I like my rums a bit sweeter, but it has just enough vanilla and molasses kick to satisfy that...It's a bit hot in the back of the throat on the finish for me...but that's my only complaint. It's a nice sipping rum and worth the wait.
The Rum Barrel Review
"On the nose there’s a lovely dark profile. Fresh ground coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla, plums. There are some tropical fruits like pineapple and passion fruit, followed by a slight grassy note. Nutmeg, old leather, tobacco and white pepper. On the palate it goes down so easy. Milk chocolate, vanilla, honey, mango, toffee and cashews. Canned pineapple, blackcurrant, coconut cream and coca cola. The tobacco note is back along with some cinnamon. Not crazy sweet, fairly well balanced and easy going. Cocoa butter and orange marmalade. Towards the end is where you get a bit more oak spices and some alcohol heat. The finish is short with cocoa nibs, some oak tannins and maple syrup."
Has a nice light sweet vanilla note.
"Spicy notes and a oaky lavour are very pleasant and not overpowering."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
