Beeing a Dane, it was compulsory for me to taste this historic rum with a 9 generation family tradtion behind it. At first I was sceptical if this rum can convince me. But I must day, I was positively surprised. Full points! 10 out of 10!
I tried this beautiful rum in an exclusive rum tasting. This one was the "top of the pops"! Can fully rcommend it.

I had the chance to try the Castenschiold Signum rum during my wifes and my stay at "Das James Hotel" in Flensburg, Germany. As a whiskey lover and connoisseur I can say that this rum really hit me. That's why I decided to take a bottle home to Denmark which I bought at Citti-Markt in Flensborg.
The rum is a blend of 8 - 21 year old rums from the Carrebean and South America, aged in ex-Bourbon casks with a finish in ex-Sherry casks. In the nose I smell an oak wood followed by a light caramel and licorice note. The palate is very smooth on the tongue with wood and caramel notes again as well as bits of pepper and fruit. The long aftertaste is very pleasant and free of any alcoholic burn. Summarised, I can fully recommend this beautiful rum.
