The smell is similar to HC3 at first, then it turns to something which reminds me of rotten apples, the taste starts also similar to HC3, but then turns dry, bitter and sour, again with rotten apples component which spoils the fun. Quite a challenge to drink neat, and it does not do a great service in mixed drinks either. Beter avoid and use its older brother Anejo for mixing instead.

Had a glass of Perla del Norte Carta Blanca while vacationing in Cuba. Not the greatest but had a lost worse.

Interesting new brand from Cardenas in Matanzas. Hopefully the company won't have to fight the technical problems anymore they had in the past. Typical carta blanca. Only consumable in a bind.
