Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4) Distilled

Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.

The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.

The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

Don't get me wrong this is a solid rum with decent flavor and is on the sweeter side. however, for the price, I feel you could get better options in a similar flavor category to this. This rum is fairly smooth and has that vanilla molasses taste. However, I recommend getting the Diplomatico Exclusiva instead if you're looking for a sweet vanilla, molasses type rum such as this.

If you have sweeter tastes, or friends who reject drinking neat spirits, then Ron Zacapa is for you. Ron Zacapa Solera 23 is certainly a sweet rum, but has more than enough flavor to back it up.

A great and dependable rum. Always enjoyable and easy to come across.

Ret sød, og ganske udemærket, men uden den store dybde og fylde, anelse sprittet.

I find it to be sweet and the flavor somewhat flat. I expected a bit more out of it after having some other solera rums. Overall, a decent rum but probably not worth the price.

In terms of price / quality ration this is my overall winner so far. Straight, for some maybe a bit too sweet but still very good.

My first "expensive" rum that I tasted. Loved it and started my rum adventure from this. Since then I find it still has a good taste, but it's too sharp.

rhum de type hispanique on retrouve la douceur. Il y a aussi un côté boisé.
Très complexe et agréable à déguster

I've just started drinking rum (rum and coke isnt counting) and rz was very good and easy for me as a beginner.
This one made me interested in trying more of what the world of rum has to offer:)
