Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4) Distilled

Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.

The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.

The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

In the beginnen I had to get used to the taste. Because I more like the sweeter stuff. But after the second glass I began to love it.
And with Coke? Very good.

En av de bästa rom jag smakat. mycket smak,en del styrka och ganska söt. Men om den är sötad så är det inget problem för är det en god rom så är det.

The distinguishing characteristic of its beautiful color with a splash of taste makes this rum exquisite.

The drink that opened the rum universe to me. Perfectly balanced and with a long aftertaste.

Note: I'm a sipper. My opinion is based on sipping characteristics.

I was really expecting something else. Like really. Upon first sip, it's already obvious something's not right. It feels like diabetes in a glass. Probably goes fine with Coke and other fizz crap, I would not know and would not care but sipping it is a suicide. And price-wise and age-wise, I certainly did not expect this to be a mixer. And you know what's the worst of it all? It hits you like a bloody train. I mean I've had many bad hangovers in my life but never *before* the day after. And with the Zacapa here, hangover starts manifesting as you sip. Now that's something radical but also a thing that won't get me buy this crap again.

A little more alcohol burn in the mouth, but still a very tasty and excellent rum

Super balanced with a little smokiness. Perfect example to introduce rum to people who choose other drinks probably because the first experience was not inspiring because of a bad choice.
Mild taste, solid colour, pleasant smell.

This is the rum that got me into the rumworld. It’s really nice and a good start into learnibg your OWN palate, it drinks away smooth with a tasty sweetness. It had a pleasent aftertaste without too much burn.

When I drink other rums I compare them to this one. Price-quality is superb.

This rum is very delicious. Great complex flavors & smooth to sip. Not to strong, but not weak at all.

It's easy to drink but doesn't have a complex taste. The sweeteness feels added. Not a bad rum but not great either.
