Je spíše plytší a jednodušší. Škoda, protože vůně je parádní. Chuť bohužel zaostává. Neduhy kryje sladkým kořením, které jde až do bílého pepře se kterým jsem se potkal v Rum Nation no.14.

First time seems not good. Next day - much better. Need time to breathe. Easy to drink, but very simple taste. Taste is real good. Barely sweet and it is really perfect. The same simple smell. For this quality - some overpriced. But very nice design of bottle. Perfect for gift and for coctails.

Tonight’s Rum: Miracielo Reserva Especial Artesanal from Guatemala. I’m quite fond of Guatemalan Rums, so I’m looking forward to this one; I picked up my bottle in the Cancun Duty Free after a vacation at Secrets Maroma Beach. Let’s jump in…

In the glass it’s a darker rum than your typical spirit, your common Appleton and Diplimatico. It looks rich and has big legs in the glass. The nose is lovely, truly rum like with orange, molasses and allspice. Subtle cane and pineapple lurk in there too. It’s enticing.

The first hit on the lips is sweet with a hint of cough syrup. That cough syrup is not a good start; it’s not typical from a good rum. The second sip, drops the syrupy nature way down, and rum comes out. In the mouth it’s only slightly peppery, not overly sharp. Flavours of caramel and cane are dominant with orange and pineapple chasing close behind. It’s a lovely blend. But then… I had garlicky pasta for dinner a bit more than an hour ago. In the throat it’s very easy, no burn, no strife. For this straight-up sipping review, it’s hard to note anything harsh other than the fleeting tang at the start.

The finish is a dry as compared to it’s start which is a surprise with a hint of black cherry. I have no idea where that came from. While I generally like a sweeter rum, especially in the finish, this rendition is still pleasurable; there’s no pucker mouth if you will. After a while an odd hint of coffee emerges.

I give this one a strong 8/10, running slightly ahead of Rumratings.com 7.1. While you could use this as a mixer, I believe this a sipping rum and that’s how I’ll finish the bottle. #394 or my 500 rum goal.

Cheers!

B.

Pleasantly surprised. Taken away as a bonus. Rich in flavor. Let your glass breathe. Certainly benefits the rum

A personal favourite. Smooth, full of flavour you can really spot. Not overly expensive. Highly recommend. Nice bottle as well.
