TLDR: Getting more than what you paid for

I'm fairly new to the rum scene but this is so far the best rum I've had in the cheap price zone. I'd take it any day!

I've been sipping it only so far with some ice and lime and it's such a balanced profile, you can easily drink a lot of it. That's what I've been doing at least. Writing this review at around half a bottle down.

Don't be fooled by the bottle, it may not look like much but what's inside is impressive especially given the price.

This is a tasty and for me a good example of a Cuban style rum.

A rum to enjoy at the same level of a Havana Club or a Ron Santiago. It's being a while since I tried this one. Need to refresh my memory.

Bottle purchased in Berlin. Rich golden pour in color. Downright chocolate aroma! Flavor is rich with marshmallow chocolate molasses and an interesting unusual spruce woodiness. So very fun to sip. Like many Cuban rums, this palate is inviting.

I’m certain I’ve had this classic Cuban rum before and never rated it. Typical Santiago de Cuba bottled at only 38%, not sure why they do that but very typical. This is fine sipped neat but a little harsh, perfect for cocktails similar to Havana Club 7. Great score being slightly less recognized got it at a great price. Easy to drink nothing not to like except low proof but it works for this rum. If you find it buy it value at $15.

Igazából ez volt a belépőm a rumok világába. Kimondottan édeskés, határozottan melaszos ízvilágú rum. Nekem bejött mind önmagában, mind koktélban fogyasztva, megéri az árát.

Smooth and soft with a bit of sweetness. Nice dark color.

That being said it is not a bad one, if you are looking for something inexpensive that will keep you company as an everyday sipper. Very good on sugarless mojitos.
