Tasting with
Enmore 1996 (9) & Albion 2004 (10) & Skeldon 2000(9) & Port Mourant 1997(8)
Bitte selbst probieren........
Best demerara I've had. Super heavy caramel, complexity, toast, oak, molasses. Perfect
I tasted the Albion and the Skeldon together. The Skeldon was slightly better, but only because it had a more powerful taste. The two rums resemble each other very much, and share the wonderful classic Demerara rum notes. Love, LOVE IT.
One of the best I tried so far. Chocolate, caramell, wood, fruits, roasted notes - love it. Very close to the El Dorado Skeldon.
Dozvuk: Skořice, opálené dřevo, hořká čokoláda, třešně a sušené meruňky. Dlouhý.
Sladkost: 0/3

Vynikající! Velmi připomíná styl rumů z Belize vylepšený však lehkou nakouřeností. I přes vysokou cenu zvažuji lahev.
I will do a cross tasting with SVW 1996, ElD Skeldon 2000 and Enmore 1996.
4368 bottles of the Skeldon marque and 4500 of the Albion were release.
Compared to the Diamond SVW nose, it’s not that intensive and shaped, but also elegant. Could be related to the SVW 1996 in the nose but has also many differences in the taste.
It’s also very similar to the Skeldon. I couldn’t name a difference in a blind tasting. It’s also a little bit musty at the beginning.
I get caramel, honey, dry fruits (raisins), orange zest, herbs and earthy barrel first (the earth disappers after 45min).
Then wood aroma is also the one from a wooden still, a typical Enmore wood.
I get also a hint of amarena cherries.
It goes in the direction of the SVW. But it’s not that flowery and not that complex.
First you get some bitter tannins. But after some sips you get used to it. The initial taste is a little bit short because this rum is very viscous. It gets warm in the mouth very fast but therefore the body is richer. I get caramel, wood, tannins, orange zest and herbs in the initial taste. In comparison to the Skeldon I get not much dry fruits here and I get the tannins earlier.
In the middle I get bitter oranges, herbs, wood and the orange zest. Then some more intensive notes of some anise and wood varnish. I didn't get any flowery notes here like in the Skeldon.
The finish starts with spice, then honey, wood varnish, some grains and orange zest
.
A mix of sweet mellow notes and heavy aromas.
The aftertaste is quite nice, but not exceptional. Demerara wood, honey, dry fruits and orange zest.
I didn't get any flowery notes or I missed them.
This rum is a little bit different to the Skeldon, but has also many similarities. It’s a different rum compared SVW 1996. I could compare the nose, but the taste is different.
The SVW is more shaped with more heavy aromas and is also more complex.
It's not complex enough between the best Demeraras. I would rate that one with 91 points.
Nose: caramel**, honey**, dry fruits (raisins)**, orange zest**, earth/barrel**, herbs**, grape seeds*, some flowery notes*
Taste initial: caramel, wood, tannins, orange zest, herbs
Middle: bitter orange, herbs, wood, orange zest, some anise, wood varnish
Finish: spice, honey, wood varnish, some grains, orange zest
Aftertate: wood, honey, dry fruits, orange zest
Sweetness: 2.5/5
Fruits: 3/5
Spice: 2.5/5
Mildness: 3.5/5
Value (210€): 3.5/5
The nose offers few surprises – rich fruity notes of blackcurrants and raisins.
"It’s rich and very fruity. The finish compared to the initial entry and mid palate is quite dry. It is however, an excellent end to a really great rum. It’s long and and full of complex spices."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Pro mne prostě SUPER.
Ve vůni cítím melasu a dřevo s alkoholem.
V chuti výrazná dřevitost sudu, která pozvolna přejde v ovocnou sladkost peckovitého ovoce, nespíše meruněk.
Výtečný rum.
