Millonario XO

Rum is smooth and great quality,but somehow its missing some character. I can drink this rum all day long but with no special feeling taste. It is old rum with vanilla and nutmeg flavour. Somehow I find it very dry.

Picked this up in Peru, where it is about $100 even there. I usually bring Cartavio XO back, but figured since this is the top Peruvian rum rated here I'd take a chance. I can't say I regret it because it is a good rum, but one more bottle of Cartavio would have been better on my shelf. First the good: it is the smoothest rum I have tried. No burn. So easy to drink. It has ripe fruit and raisin on the nose. Those flavours continue with your first sip, along with some spiciness, maybe nutmeg or allspice. It gets oakier as it goes down, which is - as I said - so smooth. The bad? Sweet! Far too sweet. It says added sugar right on the back of the bottle. Which is unfortunate, because without it it'd probably be a 9 or 10. But it tastes too much like a dessert wine for my liking. Worthy of a try, but if you can bring only one bottle back from Peru, choose the Cartavio XO.

Fin rom, til pengene. Har en god eftersmag uden at blive for sød.

Smagte denne til rommesse, var meget skuffet ift hvad jeg havde forventet. Kunne godt tænke mig at prøve denne igen og se om karakteren skal revurderes

A fine rum, at bit sweet, what I would call a ladies’ rum.

A little bit too strong alcohol taste for me, I am not a fan. But the evolved taste of different spices har a really nice ring to it!

Qui passe bien auprès de tous le monde. un poil trop sur le sucre, mais à 45€ à la jonquera c'est top.
