Thanks so much for submitting a report. It has been emailed to the Rum Captain and will be actioned shortly.
It was a bit sharp on the nose to start but really mellowed out with vibrant honey and raisin notes, the taste was a real treat though and has me keeping an eye out for a bottle in every drink shop I'm in.
Picked this up in Peru, where it is about $100 even there. I usually bring Cartavio XO back, but figured since this is the top Peruvian rum rated here I'd take a chance. I can't say I regret it because it is a good rum, but one more bottle of Cartavio would have been better on my shelf. First the good: it is the smoothest rum I have tried. No burn. So easy to drink. It has ripe fruit and raisin on the nose. Those flavours continue with your first sip, along with some spiciness, maybe nutmeg or allspice. It gets oakier as it goes down, which is - as I said - so smooth. The bad? Sweet! Far too sweet. It says added sugar right on the back of the bottle. Which is unfortunate, because without it it'd probably be a 9 or 10. But it tastes too much like a dessert wine for my liking. Worthy of a try, but if you can bring only one bottle back from Peru, choose the Cartavio XO.
Vůně: Karamel, koření, pečené ovoce.
Chuť: Karamel, dub, ovoce, koření a dost čokoláda.
Dochuť: Delší, sladší, lehce dřevitá, čokoláda.
No mohl by být celkově barvitější, bohatší.
This is not a real rum. It has so much added sugar and other additives that it is completely undrinkable to anyone used to real, pure rum. Horrible stuff.
testován vzorek z WH1 - Peru Millonario
tmavá barva, v chuti koření a med, dlouhý a sladký dojezd (možná až moc sladký)
určitě to není špatný rum, ale cenový rozdíl oproti "slaměné"15 je neopodstatněný - proto jen 7 bodů
My friends know I'm a rum guy, and a vendor of mine purchased this rum as a Christmas gift. My 1st sip of this rum blew me away. Absolutely the smoothest rum I've even had with no burn, a lasting sweetness, but not a sweetness that you get sick of. You can tell that this is not a "hipster" rum and it's made with care. The dominant flavors are caramel, molasses and oak, but it's the perfect balance of the 3. I also get hints of tobacco, chocolate and maybe orange zest?
It's not the cheapest rum, however it's delicious and a must for all rum lovers.
Taste is almost identical with the Millonario 15.
But in a blind test I preferred the 15 yrs.
The lower point is for it is really overpriced !
Go with the 15 yrs instead !
