Sugar: Estimated at 42 GPL. A step up from the 25 year version of the rum. Similar taste profile as the 25 year old but this rum is so much smoother and because of that the sweetness of this rum doesn't overpower the taste. Oak, vanilla, caramel, smoke, and what I got from this rum was the taste of Cherries? In my review of the 25 year old version I listed Christmas Cake as one of my tastes and aromas. That's present in this rum as well. Is this rum worth twice the cost of the 25 year old version? I don't think so. I have a couple bottles of the 25 year old, but as I am focusing on building the best rums in the world. If you don't have a bottle of this one and like sweet and smooth rums, then treat yourself to this one. As this is the best of the Centenario rums that I have tried, I will give this a rating of 10 for now.

I don't agree that this is worse than the 25 year old. Not as sweet and much more complex. If it's worth the extra cash, is up to you. I'm glad I got it.

Oaky and woody and less sweet than 20 or 25 year. I prefer the sweeter ones which also cost less. I would go with the 25.

I had the chance comparing the 3 centenarios (20,25 and 30) and there is for sure a difference, but it is not so big as I expected, I think the price is just too high comparing it with the 20 years one. But please dont get me wrong it is a great rum.

This rum is the best i have every tasted.

Aroma was rich with fruity notes.
Palate was amazingly smooth, with good finish too.
Overall 10/10.

Some people have to stop submitting bogus ratings just to bring the number down. Diplomatico is trash compared to some of these better sipping rums. Centenario Rum has an unbelievable complexity with layers of flavor that pairs well with any cigar your smoking. This rum is a 9.5-10.0 all day long.

I got this rum with a few others for my 50th and the taste and smell experience is exceptional. There's just something in the taste that rubs my palate in the end, Dos Maderas Luxus is better...

Dostal jsem tento rum s několika dalšími k mým 50y a zážitek z chutě a vůní je výjimečný. Jen je v chuti něco, co mi v závěru drhne na patře, Dos Maderas Luxus je lepší...

Finally opened this rum and now i have decided to give it a detailed review. Slept a few nights before i knew how to rate this right. This is a high end (product of the brand centenario) spanish style solera. It is a blend of 8, 15 and 30 yo rums. It must have been sweetened as far as i can judge after trying it. Pricewise it is available around 100 €. After trying it i can perfectly understand why so many fellows rated this a perfect 10. However some people werent impressed at all. And i can understand that also. Let me explain why. It has a very pleasant, harmless and beautiful taste. This rum treats you like a capricious royalty. The alcohol is very good contained. It is just perfect if rum is supposed to accompany your evening. However if you expect this rum to be the main event it will probably miserably fail this task. It doesnt challenge your tastebuds a lot and the taste is nice but also random. Sugar doesnt help much to show its character. Conclusion: if know what to expect (from a spanish style solera) and what not, this rum is worth its money. It is very enjoyable at right circumstances.
