A smooth rum. High quality, but a little sweet for my taste.
Great color and body flavor is as good as zaccapa with far less sugar if any vanilla banana caramel on the front flavor a little lacking on the Finnish for a 30 year rum
Very nice smooth ruhm. I personally like the 25 better. Hard to find. I'll add another bottle to the bar to have on hand for special friends.
I had the opportunity to taste the 20 years and the 25 years and I waited to taste this version 30 years at a rum fest or private tasting because as some of you the price was a brake and the comments were not necessarily positive. The day arrived when I finally tasted this rum. The conditions were not optimal but to seeing the heads of my colleagues during this tasting, our opinions all went in the same direction. This rum is in line with the two younger ones with the same aromas. Caramel, molasses, pastry notes. In the mouth, the sweetness is immediately present with vanilla all in finesse. And this may be the problem, it is too sweet even though this is usually the case with very old rum. You get the impression that he has not much to say, that he expressed all the complexity and then nothing ... We were disappointed and seen the price a lot of people prefer the 25th on the 20th Now this is always a matter of taste and nothing should be taken away from the work behind this quality rum. But for the same price jump on the Malteco 1987.
tycker nog 20 år är lite bättre,sötare framförallt.
mycket ek i den här,även viss sötma som gillas..
Maybe because everyone told me that was a really great rum I decided to buy a bottle. I had much better rums at this price range. But it's not bad.
Strong ether smell past the caramel. Then taste just sweet. I can go for some sweet (added sugar) rum sometimes but frankly the nose is the wrong, make you fill like if they just added sweetness to pure alcohol...
Full body, Smooth but overpriced
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Centenario 30 is a bit different from 25 and 20, flavour goes to another direction... much less sweetness than other two which is ok, but it is a bit simple for this price. Smell reminds me Opthimus 21 & taste is closer to Unhiq XO which is cheaper but also bit expensive for 500 ml (if you think that Quorhum 30 from same company is older and much cheaper). Some days before I had taste again (as many times) Zacapa Roayal (which is also overpriced as all drinks over 200 euro) and that was richer-bolder-rounder & sweeter with many different types of aging (bourbon, cognac, wine, cherry, smoked & toasted oak....) and all them together produce great complexity, natural sweetness and make the blend more oily, interesting complexity and intense flavours!! Something which in Centenario 30 was missing for the price (as in Unhiq XO & Milonario XO). Flavour profile is medium sweet some light spices, vanilla, slightly velvet feeling and at the end some oak of whiskey-bourbon but soft. It is balance and nice dont get me wrong but not that unique, a touch more "special" than most rums with price around 40-70 euro. You can get at half price Quorhum 30 which is great expirience, more wooden toasted casck which I like, or El Dorado 21... I dont say they are much better, are about equal and they have their problems but at least with character & much cheaper!! And I can understud some people who says that love more 20 or 25 which got more flavours... For expirience drinkers value for money rums I would suggest are El Dorado 21, Ron Cubaney 30, Quorhum 30 and maybe Melteco Selection 1987 (bit pricey but nice experience). Further from that all Centenario 30 is a nice quality rum with delicate smoothness and enjoyable (but until there).
