Costa Rica | Aged | 40% ABV
Ron Centenario 20-Year rum is produced from Costa Rican sugar cane which is turned into molasses before aging in American white oak barrels up to 20 years using the solera aging system.
The company producing Ron Centenario 20-Year rum used to be named Seagram de Costa Rica, but in 2002 changed its name to Centenario Internacional. The rum wasn't sold outside of Costa Rica until 2007.

This was a recommended rum at the liquor store. Nice dark color with perhaps a red tinge. Taste is very smooth. Recently I seem to be comparing new rums to Plantation 20 Anniversary, which is my recent benchmark. I would have to say Centenario 20 is very close. Delicious!
Sweet and soft. Thats what i like about this kind of rums
This rum has a very sweet nice and a soft nose. Aftertaste also very nice
Dieser Rum hat mich schwer begeistert, er ist mild und komplex, angenehm süss und fruchtig. Wirklich ein toller Rum, mit feinen Vanillenoten, ausgezeichnetes Preis-Leistungsverhältniss.
Compare to his 25years old brother, this Centenario 20y is clearer and has a nice brown/red color.
The taste is sweet from the beginning till the end with caramel and vanilla aromas. The aftertaste is quite short most probably due to the softness of this Centenario. Anyway, it is really a pleasant ron which is definitively a good value for money.
Spitzenrum! Herrlich lecker! Nussig, süß und würzig, dabei wunderbar mild, kaum Alkohol und einen runden Abgang. Immer eine Sünde wert!
Beautiful dark, mahogany color. Sweet caramel, fruit, honey, vanilla and amond aroma. Very sweet in mouth with pastry taste, caramel. The finish is not very long and doesn't burn. I prefer the 25 Year but it's a very good one !
This sweet and smooth rum is very good - I highly recommend it
Excellent rum, beautiful color and bottle. The flavor is excellent, hints of cherry, vanilla a touch of oak and just the right amount of sweetness. People who don't like sweeter rums may not like it heck they probably shouldn't be drinking rum in the first place. But this is a very tasty beverage on the rocks or neat depending on your mood. Smooth long enjoyable finish. Just buy a bottle.
Ich würde diesen Rum mit dem Zacapa 23 vergleichen. Ich finde beide sind von der Qualität gleich auf, auch etwas ähnlich... Der Negra hält im Abgang aber noch länger an.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Novice alert, this was my first ever sipping rum purchase.
I'm generally not a spirit man & have never particularly enjoyed whisky or cognac. I bought this bottle on a whim, because at the time I was browsing in a wine shop and started looking at the rum collection & became a little seduced by the idea of rum, its reminiscent of beaches and pirates and lazy days in the Caribbean sun. As I walked out, it dawned on me that I might have made a rather rash decision...
...Upon tasting, though I released I hadn't and I was immediately very impressed, I have no reference point to compare it to of course, but the taste was marvelous.
The initial taste was a pleasurable burn (not as harsh like whisky though) and then replaced by a sweet, velvety honey sensation as the liquid coats the mouth. swallowing was even better.
It would be safe to say I'm now a rum convert and I look forward to exploring some new flavours as I learn more about the rum world.
