Perso j'ai bien aimé. La btl n'a pas duré longtemps
Paid $33.99 for Solera 1893. As with other reviews, I did find a touch of spice with the taste that lingered for a while. I did purchase the Botran Reserva and enjoyed it, so I expected more from this one. I think the Reserva is a better value for the price.
This rum looks promising, nice colour. The taste is harsh at first and a hint of caramel at the end. It's harshness is a too bitter for my taste. I tend to like sweeter runs.
I was looking for a good bang for your buck rum to switch it up. (I noticed I was drinking my expensive ones much to fast.) So one of the gentlemen at the liquor store recommended this specific one as the others in the botran line are not very good. This one is like a more affordable version of zacapa. Not quite as robust but still manages a good smoothness. Recommended for sure.
I bought this seeking to expand my collection and based on reviews from here. It's certainly an enjoyable rum, but yet lacks the character to make it a bottle that I would buy again. I never mix aged rums, and this is certainly more than acceptable as a sipper, but there's not enough there to make it stand out
The kind of rum I like. Sweet, but not as nice as the Zacapa 23. Kind of expensive, though, for the quality.
Purchased in Duty Free when there was a promotion. Good sipping rum on the rocks. Agree with many comments about the taste.
Cista hezka barva, ve vuni dost citit alkohol, je lepsi ho nechat trochu rozvinout ve sklence.
The nose is nice with much flavours, it hints about a sweet tasty rum with fudge, vanilla, liqourice and richness.
The taste is not like the smell!
The first taste is oily but then the avftertaste kicks in. Its nice and rich but not more than ok.
Not a lot of aroma, some arrack, caramel, orange, vanilla. Doesn't really stand out in any way. I like a rum with a lot of complexity OR a very sweet rum but Botran Solera have neither. Still, it's tasty and smooth.
Quite sweet with some strong notes of smoke and tobacco leaf. .
"It’s much spicier on the palate than the nose. It has a very nice bourbon like sweetness in the mid palate which is as nice as it is surprising."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Nice oak flavor when straight. Just a bit strong of an afterburn to lower it to a 6 from a 6.5
