Pri otváraní sa mi rozmrvil korkový vrchnák a padol do rumu... Nervy, ale potom som ovoňal a celkom príjemná vôňa
Chuť bola paráda a na to, že je pomerne lacný, príjemné pohladil chuťové bunky

Light on the nose, oak, vanilla, chocolate, rather smooth taste with pronounced oak, the aftertaste is almost not there. Passable as sipper, there is nothing unpleasant, but also nothing I would like to return to. Reedit: I bought it after some two years from my original review, the smell is quite chemical, the taste diluted and the afterburn is quite pronounced. Original score was 6, got worse.
Perhaps I expected more because of the origin (Guatemala) but I didn’t like me neither mixed nor alone. In the range of price you can get much more.

Decent Guatemala rum, even though there are obviously much better ones there. Ok neat, better mixed.

This is one of our go to evening sipping rums... good for curling up on the couch and reading or watching TV or chatting with friends. It doesn't hold any surprises, just warm and friendly.

Esa suavidad guatemalteca, toques dulces muy ligeros, se deja beber, me gusta.
Not great depth, but it makes a great cocktail. Too sharp without some sugar.

Small mouth and thin body. Strong. The alcohol rules over the aromas. Bitter and strong

This rum was from a dark time for Botran. Most their rums were horrible and could be found in close out in stores. This was a huge exception. It was actually decent. The problem was it inherited the black label from the old low end Botran (which was rebranded with a red label). People associated this one with that monstrosity the old black label was and it suffered.
Currently all rums from this times are discontinued. The line was replaced with Reserva, Reserva Blanca, and Solera 1893. You can notice the influence Zacapa had in these new lines.
