Bacardi 8-Year is a blended rum, filtered using the Bacardi-pioneered charcoal filtering system and aged for eight years.
This rum was not released to the public until 1995, when the first limited edition Bacardi 8 was sold with a sherry oak finish in a Baccarat crystal decanter. Despite a price tag of $400 per bottle, the rum was hugely popular and led to the larger release of the blend without the collectors' features and price.

This rum is a good aged rum from bacardi with a little smoky/woody taste very pleasant. Alcohol taste is light and it can be easily drunk neat. Very good mixed with juice too. Considering the price, it really is a good deal.
Carmel color, with almost too sweet aftertaste, very smooth. Drinkable over ice if cut with1:1 water. Very suitable with mixers. One of the best Bacardi has to offer.
I thought this rum was pretty smooth will probably use as a mixer just because I’m a light weight
What a regular rum with this age should taste like.

This is a decent every day sipper, or even mixed... and the price can't be beat

Nothing special at all. Middle rating in every aspect
Vůně dubová, značně vanilková, karamel, ovoce
Chuť sladší, nahnilé ovoce, dost dubová, karamel, čokoláda
Dochuť sladší, čokoláda, dub, koření (skořice?)
Bohatší, snesitelnější, než mnou doposud nejlépe hodnocené, ale plytké Bacardi Oakheart

For the price of this rum you can’t complain
A bit short in it’s aftertaste but i had worse rum for a higher price
