Bacardi 8 rum

Bacardi 8

United States | Aged | 40% ABV

Bacardi 8-Year is a blended rum, filtered using the Bacardi-pioneered charcoal filtering system and aged for eight years.

This rum was not released to the public until 1995, when the first limited edition Bacardi 8 was sold with a sherry oak finish in a Baccarat crystal decanter. Despite a price tag of $400 per bottle, the rum was hugely popular and led to the larger release of the blend without the collectors' features and price.

This is the first rum that I ever bought, and luckily it has been my favorite.

I actually joined rum ratings so I may find other similar rums.

I will never be a connoisseur but I do enjoy aged rum regularly. I have several bottles a double the price and do not find them better for my taste. I do like experimenting and in this price range I feel there is none better. However there are many more out there yet to be tried. I don't think you'll go wrong with Bacardi 8.

This was an early rating. I've now added a few more bottles and it still is my favorite. I'm upping the rating to a 10 until something I like better come along

2022 update. I just purchased the special edition sherry and rye cask versions of Bacardi 8. I do not consider these an improvement. I actually didn't like then as well as the standard Ocho. I did learn how important the aging cask can be. Stick with the standard, it's still my best for the price.

This was my favorite rum for many years so smooth, wonderful aroma, and taste. but I cannot find it anywhere the one they put the 8 label on now is simply Bacardi gold in an 8 bottle.

One of my favourites. Nice to drink straight, no need to mix

This rum does not disappoint. It is of premium quality and no bad headache the next day like other liquors.

My real rating is a 9 but I gave a 10 to try and raise this up from the current 6.9. This is a wonderful rum. Smooth and flavorful. Truly one to sip and savor. 8 year is the minimal age mind you. Some barrels in the mix are longer plus that hot Caribbean sun works magic. You can taste it in the glass

Deserves a better rating than its receiving. My favorite sipping rum. Doesn't have the notes of molasses - which makes other rums too sweet. Just great to GAI. (Get after it).

Versatile rum with vanilla and caramel notes with hints of smoke and coffee. I drink it neat with ice but also mixes well with coke, defintely brings out the vanilla if youre into that. All the haters here just hate bacardi and fail at being impartial.
