Kommt bei weitem nicht an den 12 heran. Aber Preis/Leistung okay
Hints of chocolate, vanilla, wood and spice with some smokiness.
Good on its own but not wasted with a mixer, such as a light ginger beer (Fever-Tree). It was a present, so cannot comment on price or value.
Preis-Leistung bei diesem Rum stimmt, auf jeden fall mal wert getrunken zu werden. Den Abuelo 12 finde ich jedoch um einiges besser.
Good and affordable for those who like it dry! This rum is a bargain depending where you buy it.
FYI I drink it neat. It's not as mahogany colored as other aged rums and even though it is graded at 37,5ยบ and it's not super complex it has character and strenght. This rum is not overly sweet (which is good if that's not your thing), it's woody and carries an oaky flavour. Would like to try the 12 yrs to see what it has to offer over this.
In terms of flavour this Abuelo 7 remindes me of Malteco 10 - they are both a little too subtle for my taste.
Abuelo is less honeyed and more chocolatey and spicier, but also a little less smoother than Malteco 10.
This is a decent enough rum that deserves 7 points. I find Diplomatico Reserva to be more full of character but all in all I do not regret buying this Abuelo 7. Price is very reasonable, too.
Spicy with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice.
Petit rhum ร prix trรจs abordable, piquant un peux au nez et en bouche, sympa ร servir autour d'une table
Fin rom, til pengene. Har en god eftersmag uden at blive for sรธd.
I finally opened one of the bottles I picked up a couple years back on closeout. I was hoping this would give me a better idea of what the Abuelo 12 yr would be like with a lot less added sugar, and I wasn't disappointed. Although it is still pretty sweet, it is not the syrupy mess that the 12 year is and a lot more intensity comes through. Due to the way rum is labeled, the ":12 year" could have a few teaspoons of 12 year old rum and a lot more sugar added to make it seem more of a "premium aged rum". This has half as much - approximately 15 g/ltr vs 30 for the 12 year. I would love to taste what this would be like with no sugar at all, but alas the blenders have decided not to give me that option.
Fairly priced and very pleasant.
"A very good introduction to the world of sipping rum."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Definitely agree that there are better out there, but this is a nice one too. Very Central American in terms of light color, soft and subtle taste, but without crossing into blandness. I love the bottle too. Definitely could be a bit cheaper but not bad at mid-$20s. Have seen it at JFK duty free for $18, which would be an outrageous bargain.
