Thanks to Joola69 for sharing this with me as part of a rare rum tasting (he and I are the only ones who have reviewed this rum as I write this, as there are only 248 bottles).
I love Venezuelan rums, though this is a bit dryer than many others I've had from there. The 58.9%abv adds to the flavor nicely though.
Smells and tastes of toasted oak, spice, molasses, and licorice. Very nice!
Rum tasting in Tirana Albania continued with 1423 SBS Venezuela 2004. Limited to 248 bottles. Nice and unique bottle and label design. Reddish mahogany color. Strong and sweet chocolate and mild cocoa flavors mixed with some oakiness and some serious alcohol to your nose and palate when neat sipped. Sweet and strong burn at the end. Man this stuff is potent!
