Unique bottle, but that’s not what stands out. The great flavor is! Not too sweet, just well made rum.
Good taste, but lacks a little bit of flavor. It's not as sweet as other rums
While not a truly amazing rum, this is definitely worth sipping on and for the price point an easy addition to the shelf of any rum enthusiast.
I’m quite disappointed with this. I like that it’s dry, but all I’m getting is bitterness and burn. Very straightforward rum, not complex at all. Smells great but just doesn’t deliver flavour, maybe it’s one for on ice?
Will be. .
This is either an excellent mixing rum or just a fair sipping rum. Almost too good for mixing. Unfortunately, it's just not great as a sipping rum. It has a good caramel nose. Sweet vanilla at first. Then spicy a bit nutty but quickly turns harsh. Just not smooth enough to be a good sipping rum.
Bajan on the nose...not as sweet as Rum Sixty Six or Doorly’s XO perhaps slightly less fruity. Some notes of chocolate and coffee along with light vanilla and fruits such as banana and nectarines. Generally - its well-balanced.
The rum is quite dry, smooth and very sippable. It just happens to be dry and spicy rather than rich and fruity. That is not to say no fruit flavours are present. It still has banana and traces of peach/nectarines in the mouth along with hints of cocoa and dark chocolate. The mouthfeel is a little like a whisky. This is a complex sipping rum which has a smooth long-lasting if slightly spicy finish. It leaves notes of oak, nuts and smokiness behind in the finish.
Overall just slightly bland -
For the $$ it’s outstanding value though.
Nose: Lots of immediate nuttiness: crushed walnuts and toasted peanuts mixed with a light caramel glaze. Warm vanilla, polished wood, and a subtle zing of rubber intertwined with old orange peels and stone fruit skins. The toasted edges of bibingka (a Filipino baked cake dish made with coconut and rice). There's a clear nuanced warmth with this one.
Palate: Moderately rich yet easy. The polished wood notes take a step forward but bring along with it delicate hints of pears, toasted coconut, and aromatic bitters. Persisting light flavors of dried sultanas. I realize that this can easily come across as being a sherried Scotch from the highlands or speyside. Medium-bodied.
Finish: Much of it drops off quite early, leaving behind some nuttiness.
I forgot to leave a review back when this was 24$. It taste like Appleton or plantation 5 year if comparison is needed. Or I would go to say flavors of kirk and Sweeney 18. Did not stand out but was a good experience for the master distiller
"Buttery, nuttiness hits me and washes over my tongue in waves. It’s magical stuff..."

The nose is classically Bajan.
"It leaves notes of oak, nuts and smokiness behind in the finish which is long and pleasant. ."

Love the bottle. The rum is a good seasoned rum. Hints of oak and wood. Good after-pallet. One of my top 10 rums in my library.
