What a great surprise from this blended rum. It is smooth enough to sip on ice, good flavours. Used as a mixer with a coconut rum as well for a special cocktail. Recommend to try.

Update : it wasn’t the gold I tried. It was Volume 1 of a limited offering from Bully Boy Boston blends rums from 5 countries: Panama 12 year 45%, Dominican Republic 12 year 36%, USA (Boston) 8 year 10%, Trinidad 12 year 8.1% and Jamaica 12 year .9%. 80 proof. $35 at the distillery. No complaints except I wonder if it’s dosed. Otherwise a too sweet, easy sipper with some nuance. Beware.

Smooth and mellow, if not very memorable 6 out of 10
Batch 64. Toast and vanilla in the nose. Very light body. Maple and oak on the palette with a fast finish. Very smooth and sippable, if unremarkable. Nice local rum. Also good in a corn n’ oil.
