Bacardi 151 rum

Bacardi 151

United States | Light

Bacardi 151 rum is one of the most well known overproof rums on the market. 151 tends to be the most common overproof strength because in pot stills this is the natural dillilation proof, but overproof rums in generally can range from 100-170+.

Can't really see the point of this. Take a very average rum and keep it average. At least if you bottle at 40% you can try and hide how average it is. Will not be featuring in my drinks cupboard - ever. If I did have some, then I might use it as a cleaner for my computer keyboard or something similar. Best to be avoided. Maybe I am biased as I had a really bad evening having had too much of it!

This is a straightforward ball busting overproof that I primarily use to float atop other rum cocktails.

Except for doing a single "silly shot" here and there, I never mix this rum except to top off (or to flame) cocktails containing more appropriate mixing rums.

It sure does serve its purpose!

I prefer my rum straight or on the rocks so this one is to strong for me. I guess this would be a good rum for getting hammered.

Recieved only a slightly higher rating than Bacardi Superir from me simply because it takes less of it to forget you're drinking terrible rum.m spend the money to get a better bottle.... unless you're looking to lb wow party guests with flaming shots.

Super hot will burn you right down to yer liver. Not for the faint hearted. Or young drinkers. Will most likely end the night early for them in a dizzy crumpled mass clutching the porcelain seat Don't like never did Seen a bar catch fire with it one time while consuming flaming shots in my younger days.

I've only used this to make holiday coquito, and even then it's still a bit harsh. Everyone complained it was too strong. I've since switched to regular proof rum.

A long time ago in Korea we cleaned out the local shop's stock of Bacardi gold rum and got the 151 instead. Was only after a drink or three did we discover that we were scoffing twice the proof than expected. Hilarity ensued.

Other than for crazy cocktails, not sure why this would be used for pleasure.

This is only good if you're at a party or if you're an alcoholic looking to save big, otherwise it is not good, very strong, not for me.

Definitely not for the faint of heart! I think the only purpose for this lava is to add potency to mixed drinks. To each his own but surely not my cup of tea

Best way to heat up a cocktail, it won't take over or get lost in the mix. Most will like it as a gift, but hope for lot's of mixer.
