Woody and caramelized nose, although thin given the alcoholic vapors.
In the mouth, orange zest, spices - finish where the heat of the alcohol is very present.
Remains a good and pleasant rum. Could be more balanced.
The rum pure is a bit to hard but with cola i like it a lot
Love the bottle; makes you feel like a real pirate when holding it and popping the cork with your teeth!!! Great taste, flavor, and extremely smooth for drinking straight up.
This is an odd one for me. I don't know how to put my finger on it or describe it but it's not horrible or good.
A smooth and more traditional take on rum. You can taste the spirit here, which I do prefer. People who don't drink much will find a burn and want to mix, but surprisingly many will enjoy its subtle aroma.
I love the bottle! It is a conversation piece no question. The rum is decent. A tad too much heat for my liking. But still tasty and worth a try. Dried fruit and Caramel notes.
As many others have already noted, this is very different from regular Bumbu: it’s quite dry and has none of the cloying qualities that seem to polarize many away from the original. Instead this is quite light and very smooth. The problem for me is that I don’t detect heaps of complexity, either. The nose reveals light spice, integrated, old wood, and something like nougat and roasted nuts. But the nose is not generous and I found those notes needed to be coaxed from the Glencairn. The palate has something that reminds me of spiced orange, Bosc pear, and molasses before moving off into a medium length finish. It’s a good sipper but personally, I’m missing a “wow!” factor, too. A quality rum, for sure, but just not reaching the higher scores, imo...
Notes of cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg also come into play. It has little burn to no burn.
"It is a fair bit drier. There is a touch of oak and a little bit of spice. Traces of ginger and little cinnamon. It’s very very short finish wise."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

The oak flavor surprised me a little as I was suspecting more molasses for some reason. If it had a little less after burn it would have been even higher. No complaints when mixed. While I generally like to see what my rum looks like before I pour, I did like the black bottle and cross.
