Tasted neat in a glencairn
Nose: surprisingly approachable at this octane. Brine, some grass, and a hint of citrus
Mouth: Again surprisingly easy for 59% ABV - the nose holds up with sugar cane, citrus, fennel, hints of cucumber and green olives.
Finish: Medium, with vegetal character
Overall an incredible and highly drinkable agricole blanc from Marie Galante at a very generous price point. Makes a lovely Ti' Punch or a daiquiri with tons of character
Rhum savoureux typique de Marie Galante. Assume très bien ses 59° sans pour autant se révéler trop fort. Rhum à réserver aux amateurs !
Exceptional though a bit dry, this rum is very fragrant ...
He still has a very different taste drink on site.
One of the best rum of Guadeloupe I could taste.
Like nearly any other white rum, the Pere Labat 59° is not to be drunk straight up. However, for a rum of this proof, the Pere Labat is incredibly fruity and tasteful.
I would recommend to drink it with some cane sugar (caster or syrup) and a quarter of lime (Ti punch mentioned by Harlock).
Mainly those who enjoy the taste of paint stripper or have aluminium internal organs. Not recommended
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
