I can't get past the cleaner fluid aroma. I wanted to like it, but had to dump half the bottle down the drain.
The bottle itself is quite sturdy. I might clean it, replace the cork, and use it for something else.
Looking for my ole standby, but they were out. Looking around saw the Zaya Grand Reserva 16 and thought I would try it. First taste I liked it, but just a small sip. I drink Rum, Irish Whiskey, Bourbon or Scotch straight up or at the most a couple of ice cubes in it.
I went back for a second taste, poured a little into a glass took time sniffed and appreciated the color. This rum definitely has a sweet smell. Tasting it IS sweet, more so than I am use to or like. Almost like they added raw molasses to it at the end.
Not disgusting but too sweet for me. Will I drink it? Absolutely but I will not buy it again.
Lots of oaky vanilla bean. Sweet caramel & brown sugar, and a little cola. Seams almost spiced. I can see why some don’t like this, but for $26 it’s a good flavorful rum. Plus I’m a sucker for vanilla.
Značku Zaya jsem do ochutnání neznal a to byla chyba. Jde o skvělý rum tmavší barvy se sladší čokoládovou chutí.
Pretty good run for the price point. Tastes sweet to me, pretty smooth and not much of a burn going down.
On the nose, Zaya 16 Year Grand Reserve Rum has a sweet and fruity aroma with notes of vanilla, caramel, and toffee. There are also hints of toasted oak, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
On the palate, this rum has a full-bodied, velvety texture with a rich and complex flavor profile. There are flavors of dark chocolate, coffee, and toasted oak, with hints of spice and sweetness. The finish is long then transitions to more of a bitter burn.
I bought it to try as a sipping rum but find that I prefer it in a cocktail (Pineapple Juice at 3/1 ratio is a nice after dinner mix).
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This is a pretty good run for sipping or mixing. You can definitely taste caramel and it is very smooth. The price is a little high for this rum; there are other rums cheaper and better. I really like Zaya rum and I recommend it..
