HSE 2007 Small Cask 8-Year

Visited the Habitation Saint-Etienne (HSE) Distillery while vacationing in Martinique. Spectacular unlimited full open tasting bar. Distillery is in a different location than the tasting bar. HSE 2007 Extra Vieux Small Cask was EUR 49 at the tasting bar. Bright golden color. Very nice and sturdy bottle with a splendid label design. Oak and woody flavors merged with traditional high end Rhum Agricole to the nose and palate. Quite a strong burn at the end.

Ce rhum de 2007 titre 46°.
Design : bouteille 50cl, le rhum a une belle couleur ambrée.
Nez : avant aération : alcool), après fruits confits, cacao, épices.
En bouche, l'attaque est douce, puis le rhum révèle une belle gamme épices, cacao, boisé très présent. Longue finale chargée en tanins.
Finale : goût de canne et épices.
Ce rhum 2007 est épuisé, remplacé par un millésime 2011, très bon lui aussi.
