Aroma is only average. Taste is very good with raisin, fruit and wood. The porto is most noticeable in aftertaste.
Overall - nicely smoothed agricole.
42% ABV. Aged at least 5 years (not sure if the 12 months in port barrels are included in this number or not). Cherries still, but yes, grapes also. Slight astringency. Quite good, but I'm still not in love with this series.
Visited the Habitation Saint-Etienne (HSE) Distillery while vacationing in Martinique. Spectacular unlimited full open tasting bar. Distillery is in a different location than the tasting bar. HSE 2009 Port Cask Finish was EUR 37 at the tasting bar. Bright golden color. Very nice and sturdy bottle with a splendid label design. Strong port cask flavors merged with traditional high end Rhum Agricole to the nose and palate. Quite a strong burn at the end.
