Cane Island Trinidad 8-Year

Pleasant. Sweet honey and spices on the palate with notes of banana and prominent oak.

Bought this after reading a lot of positive reviews on a rum forum and I found it very nice. It’s not as sweet as I first thought but the same thing happened when trying Zacapa 23 for the first time, which it really reminds me of in the tasting notes. Plus it’s a temporary bottle, at least here in Sweden.

En stabil,god rom. Lite söt,ingen spritsmak men stark eftersmak.

Decent smoky aroma, caramel and banana in the start of the body, oaky finish

Aroma is nice, with honey and nuts.
First taste is a bit sweet with honey tones. After comes my favorite part - the middle, full of forest fruit, plums and spice. Aftertaste is long and pleasant. Higher % could help to get even more points.

A warm and inviting rum which is sweet but not overly so, followed a natural pepper and spice finish.

Senza infamia, senza lode. Un buon rum. al naso caramello e una nota di sandalo.

Nez alcoolisé, présence forte d'alcool en bouche mais avec une belle longue finale.

I have earlier tried out Cane Island Venezuela and Barnbados variant with great pleasure.
Thought it would be nice to also test the variant from Trinidad to get a new variant in a different style. Thought this one should be much more to “Agricole”, but this is nothing like that.
Starting with the nose and it is for sure stronger than it’s “sisters” from Venezuela and Barbados. But smooth and gentle in the nose. Some sweet citrus/orange, some gentle toffe and oak.
The taste is dry, oaky, and a little bit more bitter than the nose. In the aftertaste there is some notes of almond och rubber.
The notes at slightly fading away.

Smell is little sweet, bit of caramel, and fresh fruit.

Taste has a bit of caramel, oak and a hint of plantain behind. This rum has some sweetness but I still consider it dry. Finish is average leaving plantain in mouth.
