Pyrat XO Reserve

this is an orange liqueur not a rum.
intrigued by the name and the bottle very nice I decided to try this rum.
I was immediately disgusted as more than a rum looks like an orange liquor, however, poor

No longer called a rum, it is akin to Cointreau in taste - except cointreau beats it 10 - 0 in taste. Cheap spiced alcohol.

This drink is disgusting. I wouldn’t even call it a rum. It has so much “orange flavoring” thst it is almost undrinkable. I don’t know what they were thinking. They should have to label as orange flavored rum.

Strašlivě přeparfémovaná oranžáda. Je-li v tom ještě něco jiného, není to skoro ani cítit, ani se to nedá v chuti moc rozeznat.
Mizerná kořalka, na které je hezká jen flaška, ale dokonce už i na ní navěšená plaketa je ohyzdná a zcela samoúčelná, nicméně pořád ještě je to druhé nejlepší, co se na tom dá najít.
Láhev jsem nakonec časem dopil, ale bez nejmenšího potěšení.
Klasický hypermarketový šmejd, navíc obvykle pěkně mastný. Nenechte se ale nachytat na nějakou akci - bylo by to drahé i za polovic!

If i want an orange liquor, i would not buy a bottle of rum.
If i want a vanilla liquor, i would not buy a bottle of rum.

So why should i buy these?

One star for nice bottle with its lanyard and the tag.

This tastes like a generic cheap liquor with some artificial orange sweetener on top. Not good at all.

They missed the mark with this one. Pretty heavy on the Citrus, but too oily to be balanced within its realm. More syrup than flavor. It has been incorporated into a few of my tiki cocktails, but with a balancing force, such as a young white rum. In this way it can be useful, but as a sipper its not for me.

Not sure what ‘extra’ they put in this. Really not great. Prob best mixed with coke, if only to hide the artificial flavouring added.

This rum will never have a problem being on the shelf. I got this because the guy at the store said I'm out of el dorado so try this one. That's the last time I will ever listen to an idiot salesman. He made his sale & I hated not only him but myself. You pirates out there should already know, Steer a Wide Berth!

Hmm I just dont like it. Tastes like artificial orange... somehow unnaturally.
