A jamaican blend from Worthy Park, Monymusk, Hampden and New Yarmouth. Between 3-5 years old rums as well as high-ester unaged pot still. On paper, this could be real nice...
The nose carries bananas, mint, cake cream, melted caramel and a little hint of medicinal, gluey funk, so your reminded that it's still a jamaican blend your up against.
The taste however dissapoints a bit comming across watery and to sweet to my liking. Obviously there's added sugar at work here. It's mostly the caramel that shines through, with just a hint of that mint and cake cream, that doesn't last too long in the mouth. Great rum stripped of character for a broader appeal i geuss.
Better then the other one. Smell pleasant, caramely like A.H. Riise, but taste nowhere there.
søt Rom med en liten ettersmak, ikke den store opplevelsen.
God och lättdrucken, lite kryddig och vanilj. Inte så tokig.
A sweeter smoother version of a funky Jamaican rum like worthy park not my style since was too sweet but interesting
As per usual this Jamaican rum tastes of vegetative funk and that light ethanol smell but this surprises. Its sweet and tastes of pineapple with being light on the wood flavour. Not bad but too sweet for my liking.
I consider the Cane Island series as rums that highlight well the peculiarities of the different islands but always remain on the "mainstream" side. For the "Jamaica" version, it means a little "funk" but somewhat masked by sweetness and alcohol.

very low funk Jamaican 7 out of 10
I'm not a big fan of Jamaican funk rums, so I found this one fairly enjoyable. The flavor is on the light side, and it has some sweetness to it, with just a little funk. I'm going to be generous and rate it a 7, but will admit that its not very true to the Jamaican style as far as I can tell with my limited exposure to other Jamaican rums. Given the price is just over $20, its a good choice for someone who wants to dip their toes into the Jamaican style first rather than jumping right in with something more authentic. If the low level of funk in this isn't to your liking, then you can probably cross off Jamaican rums from your list. I'd probably rate it a 6.5 if I could, but between 6 and 7 I'll go with 7.
