Produced in the Dominican Republic, Atlantico Private Cask is a blend of small batched rums aged up to 25 years. It is a very unique dark rum that is bottled by hand and carefully inspected. It has won several awards and has the support of Enrique Iglesias, the multi-platinum recording artist.

Even if they have Iglesias as ambassador, I don't really like this one.
This one is smooth with lots of caramel flavor, but it hides the real sugar cane feel to much in my taste. Its ok but not the premium rum I paid for.
A little too bland for my taste. Nevertheless still pleasant.
Pretty mild but five-spice gives a different dimension. Not too much of a punch, nothing necessarily wrong with it but just doesn't excite the mouth enough. £38 retail in the UK makes it OK value for money, but there are better rums out there for this price point.
Rating: 5/10
Smell - Light on the nose, vanilla sweetness
Taste - Rich taste, molasses, five-spice and a tingle on the tongue
After Taste - Medium length, rich sweet tasting
gør absolut ingen fortræd, og smager egentligt fint nok, men er ingen stor oplevelse. Mangler lidt karakter.
Not sure where the aging helps this rum, but is only slightly better than the Atlantico light. This does not live up to the strong Dominican rum legacy that has produced so many quality rums.
Vůně OK , ale chuť a barva nic moc . Dokonce se mi zdálo , že je rum trochu zakalený. Láhev jsem dopil , kupovat už jí nebudu .
Wasn`t disappointed when i first tried this rum, but wasn`t overwhelmed either. It`s smooth and sweet due to lots of added sugar (25g/L) and lacks that something that makes it stand out and me come back to it. I want to buy RUM, not liqueur.
This rum is trying to be sophisticated and appeal to the masses, it fails miserably in my opinion.
Artificial flavours abound , vanilla , tons of toffee , hint of coconut , fake fruits , its got it all !
Dark amber colour in the glass , when swirled the legs stick to the side of the glass forever.. upon sipping the overriding taste is toffee and synthetic vanilla. There is some spice and oak to be found admittedly but it manages to be thin and cloying at the same time ? No complexity at all im afraid.
Then you get a heavy burning on swallowing.. so much so , it makes your lips tingle , and not in a good way ! How does that happen when this small batched rum is between 15 and 25 years old ? I think someone is telling porkies.. Its now been re branded to Gran Reserva..
If you like real rum then i suggest you give this one a miss. I dont think Enrique Iglesias knows much about rum !

Unoffensive 5 out of 10
Had a sample tasting of this. It's unoffensive but seriously lacking complexity for a 15-25 aged Solera. At the price point being sold here in the UK there are better alternatives.
