Excellent alternative to a Cognac. Perfect on a cold winter's night or anytime. Price has skyrocketed. Probably won't buy again. Savor what you have.

...for the price! Definitely better than drinking the "regular" Pyrat, however, because a LOT more refined and is sippable! However, I prefer El Dorado 21, Flor di Cana 18, and Zacapa XO to this which is typically significantly less expensive...
BUT, IF you have a rum bar at home, this bottle and packaging looks so impressive on the bar, plus it is pretty tasty!

After a fantastic meal I was served the best rum I’ve ever had. A sensational taste explosion of humongous proportions. Supersmooth and lingering forever. Extremly well balanced notes.

Tasted at Laka Lono on 11/12/19. Pours reddish rich amber in color. Rich honey aromas. Thick. Like pancake syrup thick. Big orange citrusy flavors with a bolus of syrup sweetness. Pyrat XO on steroids. One of the chewier rums Ive had and yet the smoothness of the palate just enables this to drift away calmly and quietly.

One of, if not the most, flavorful drinks I’ve ever had. Pricey, but so worth it over a cigar. I’ve only been able to find one in my area.

This has some interesting flavors obviously additives but good anyhow.

I do like pyratt rum especially with coke. Really gives off a taste of candy bananas and bananas foster

Probably the best rum ever produced. Its worth its weight in gold and I will continue to buy the remaining bottles.

I will start by stating my bottle predates Patron. I have only one bottle in my collection and it is cherished because I can't find another. Let me also add that my collection includes the likes of Appleton 50 year old so saying this is my all-time favorite is saying a lot. This is the only rum my wife has ever been happy to drink neat! The reason for that is there is absolutely NO burn. When someone says smooth this is what it means.

This is something different... A natural kind of citrustaste appears and this is so smooth and so sweet. A smell that is from another world and the taste is beyond anything - you MUST experience this. unfortunately it's impossible right now to get a bottle in europe :(

Ok first time I had this nectar of the gods solid 9. This was the case for several bottles. Then came Padron and it went downhill, way downhill. Sorry but I will never indulge again last purchase or two thumbs down.I think this is why you see 9 ratings and 3 ratings. Original and current crap. My review is middle road for original and current
