To start, the nose is quite something. Certainly not a traditional ‘rum’ smell, closer to a candy, the honey really comes through with marzipan and almonds. While it’s not meant to sip alone, I have to say it’s not offensive and surprisingly smooth like a liquor. I could see making really unique cocktails with this, which isn’t my forte. But with a splash of coke it works... if you have a super sweet palate. Honey does come through well at a 5/1 Coke ratio. A for effort, but I’m just not sure what to do with it - not straight or with Coke.
Enjoyed a glass of Keepr's Cotswold Honey Spiced Rum at a local bar while in London. Unfortunately I did not get a photo of the bottle. Syrupy amber color. Very sweet honey notes to both nose and palate. No burn at all masked in all that sweetness. One drink of this syrup is the absolute maximum for me.
