Very swrrt from sherry cask ageing. Short in the nose and after taste
Need to give it another chance (will edit this post soon). First impressions: quite dry and oaky, with a hint of sherry.
From the Angostura webpage: “No. 1 Oloroso Sherry is the third edition from Angostura’s Cask Collection. A blend of rum aged up to 22 years, this silky smooth, complex rum is a beautiful amber with superb clarity, which offers flavours of woodiness, roasted nuts and hints of sherry, and a medium rounded and oaky finish. Only 16,200 bottles will be made available in select markets worldwide”
Toasty toffee, chocolate, good sherry oak notes. The taste is slightly sweet.
Say about Angostura what you want but this Sherry cask is stunning. Could compete with single malt whisky.
Another classy looking rum from the House of Angostura with very nice wooden and fruity smell that can be red directly on the bottle neck hanging note - how elegant. Feels stronger, spicer and overall less rounded than younger Angostura 1824 which I prefer but I know people who see it vice-versa.
It really resembles me Kirk & Sweeney 18y which was decent, but not really fascinating rum but it was way cheaper than this one. +1 if being drunk sipped a nice cup of sweet black tea w/ lemon.
Also found out experimentally the "elegant bottle neck" tend to leak when opened and headed upside down. Looks like good old cork is really way better solution, even a little loose one.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Bought one of the bottles that was left in Denmark after the introduction there. It’s OK but extremely dry and it didn’t live up to my expectations after the two first editions.
