Angostura Number 1 Sherry Cask

Competes with whisky, yet lacks value. Elegant but divisive.
The flavor is quite short and flat, not really full, easy goes.
It just lacks something.

Sherry barrel , caramel, leather and fruits in aroma; sweet caramel start, wood, tobacco and sherry in body; decent sherry barrel in tail.

Vůně: Sherry, kůže, lak, citrusy, vanilka, dřevitá
Chuť: Lehce sladká, dřevitá, karamel, sherry, staré dřevo, tabáček
Dochuť: Sherry, ne tak složitá
Ale jo, 8/10 😉

Nice sherry flavor, but not overpowering. Nice balance of sweet and dry. Smooth as silk.

Lots of fruit and wood on aroma, flavour doesn't quite live up to it, dry, sherry comes through but something lacking.

Zrovna mám ucpaný noc, takže vůně cítím špatně, ale zatím co u Angostura 1824 jsem cítil poměrně hodně ovoce, u Angostura 1919 aspoň nějakou vůni, tady jsou vůně hodně potlačené. Chuťově je to velice jemný rum, ale asi ne pro mne.
Opět rumový vzorek z komunity přátel rumu v ČR.

Another classy looking rum from the House of Angostura with very nice wooden and fruity smell that can be red directly on the bottle neck hanging note - how elegant. Feels stronger, spicer and overall less rounded than younger Angostura 1824 which I prefer but I know people who see it vice-versa.
It really resembles me Kirk & Sweeney 18y which was decent, but not really fascinating rum but it was way cheaper than this one. +1 if being drunk sipped a nice cup of sweet black tea w/ lemon.
Also found out experimentally the "elegant bottle neck" tend to leak when opened and headed upside down. Looks like good old cork is really way better solution, even a little loose one.

Say about Angostura what you want but this Sherry cask is stunning. Could compete with single malt whisky.

Too bad they changed the design of the bottle... But the rum is good!

Toasty toffee, chocolate, good sherry oak notes. The taste is slightly sweet.
