But where does it actually come from.? Says , Florida and Puerto Rico on some bottles.. I read the creators story, and he says Nicaragua... But then says Florida.. I like the bottle, tall with a cork top.. nice.. The color is good.. and it has a light smooth flower/fruity flavor in my opinion... I would have never bought and tasted this rum due to the price tag... But a bottle was given to me for Christmas..
I am an old boat capt who grew up in the Virgin Islands and Spanish Caribbean.. SO, I know RUM...
A 5.5 on my scale. A pleasant surprise for the price. Enough oak to make it worthwhile even with the after-burn. A bit better straight than mixed.
Had a rum tasting on a sunny Saturday afternoon, because why not. Dove Tail Rum bottle looks very plain, but the label design is fresh and unique. Light golden color. Oak and pure alcohol to the nose and palate. Quite a burn at the end. Not bad but far from great. Bottle states 2 years aging in Bourbon barrels, so whisky lovers can add 2 points.
